Celebrating and recognising your great results is really important for motivation and confidence.

So firstly, are you successful?

This may sound like an obvious question but it’s not always an obvious answer.

It depends on your own perception of success – but anything we set out to achieve and do exactly that is, in technical terms, a success.

In business, we set ourselves goals and financial targets and in order to reach these we have to engage in a huge amount of activity – mental and physical and often emotional.

We deal with people, clients, customers, products, websites, social media, competition, marketing, advertising, promotion, networking, systems, accounts, launches, sales… and it goes on.

Somewhere along the line, in the midst of all this activity, we are succeeding.

But we may miss it because we are so focused on getting forward! We see some activity and achievement and think great that’s ok then – but quickly move onto thinking ‘I am not achieving enough’ or ‘ is this growing fast enough?’ and we ramp up again and push forward.

The point being, when you succeed at something, take some time to actually recognise it, enjoy it and allow others to congratulate you – and congratulate yourself!

 

So many levels are layered to make a business succeed – there are no quick wins or overnight successes and anyone in business will tell you that – but when you DO win – be happy and recognise your success.

Then you can reflect on what got you there and do more of the same but be strategic in your goals, keep them well-formed and keep the core values of your business at the heart of it all.
